Brian is the founder and principal of doherty solicitors.
With over 30 years in legal practice Brian has uncontested experience in property-related matters, and focuses on providing a full service to his clients. He typically represents private and business clients in the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of their property assets. Brian also delivers litigation advice on property-related matters, and provides corporate and shareholding advice to business clients on their property-owning structures.
Brian shares an understanding with his clients who know that he will appreciate their concerns and recognise the legal nuances which can affect their transactions. Having acted for a number of property developers over many years, he has an intimate appreciation of the needs and requirements of developers in a competitive market.

Brian graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Law and has over 25 years’ experience as a practicing solicitor.
Brian has been with doherty solicitors for over 20 years, and specialises in conveyancing. He works with clients on the sale, purchase and mortgaging of residential, commercial and licensed properties. He gives guidance to clients on their development projects from site setup and throughout the sales process to complete the sales of new houses and apartments. With experience in liquor licensing law, Brian assists clients in the making of licensing applications for their retail and leisure properties to the District and Circuit courts.
Brian also advises our clients on wills, probate and estate administration matters. He has considerable experience in personal injuries litigation and submitting claims to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board.
killian doherty
Killian studied at the National University of Ireland, Galway where he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Laws Degree before completing a Masters in Business Law at Trinity College Dublin,
He trained and qualified with a larger firm in Dublin where he worked with limited companies, limited partnerships, collective investment vehicles, publicly traded companies and private business clients on their commercial property transactions. In 2021 he joined doherty solicitors where he continues this work with our business clients on transactions involving their commercial property, development and finance matters.
Killian is on the Law Society of Ireland panel of tutors at Blackhall Place, where he works with trainee solicitors looking toward qualification on the law school’s applied land law and landlord and tenant law courses.
fiona hurley
Fiona was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 2000 and holds both an Honours Bachelors Degree in Civil Law and an LLM Masters Degree from University College Cork. She trained in West Cork before practicing with an established firm in Galway and joining doherty solicitors in 2022.
Working primarily in our property section and with an emphasis on residential conveyancing, Fiona guides clients in all aspects of property transactions including the purchase, voluntary transfer, leasing and financing of residential, commercial and agricultural properties. She also advises clients on wills, probate and estate administrations including enduring powers of attorney.
Fiona has over 20 years’ experience in general practice and is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and thorough legal service to every client.
